Anglia Ruskin University – Oktra – Student Accommodation
Oktra, a leading design firm, engaged PlusFloor to supply over 2000m2 Rekka carpet tiles for the expansion of Anglia Ruskin University's Republic Building in East London.
This project aimed to accommodate an additional 1,000 students by adding a fourth floor to the existing building. Functionality and user experience were paramount, demanding the creation of a versatile learning environment that supported a variety of work settings while maintaining a consistent brand identity.
Oktra designed an agile working environment across the two floors, encouraging students to choose task-focused workspaces.
The design incorporated bright colours, exposed aesthetics, and biophilic elements, with high benches, soft seating, collaborative project spaces, and dedicated areas for focused individual work.
